I don't think they'd change their name but if they did they'd probably change it to Christian. -

Ex JW's - Which Christian denomination are you with now and why?
by Truthexplorer inthis is a question for ex jw's who have joined another christian faith group.
the purpose of my question iis to find out which christian faith group you chose after leaving watchtower and what convinced you to travel this new spiritual path you are on.
i am interested to know because i personally would like to find a genuine faith group where i can feel true christian liberty as i initially thought i had with the witnesses.

I'm still absolutely Christian in the sense of "Do to others as you would have them do to you" but it's not a requirement to belong to a secular denomination to do that. I don't understand why people feel they have to go to some meeting or building on a regular basis to remind them that they're supposed to be nice to each other. Just do the right thing! You already know how God want's you to act. -

I've been depressed lately.
by Butyoucanneverleave inmy husband and i went to visit his family for the holidays.
not everyone showed for the visit ,the weather was lousy, and it just generally sucked.
now we're back to the same old routine with work and life and we're both depressed and alone.

i struggle with depression too. I think being a witness permanently damages your brain. i've found though that there are a lot of people in the world that are depressed, witness or not. It's very helpful, for me at least, to do something for those that are even worse off than I. I hope this doesn't sound trite but comforting those less fortunate that we are helps. For example, today I went out to lunch with an elderly lady that suffers from loneliness too. She was never a witness. It helps to get out of our own heads some times. -

Kim and mikeys chanel on YouTube they uploaded a video of more singing and dancing
by Crazyguy inon their chanel they are showing a video of a special assembly day in belgium i believe.
the jws are dancing dressed in black and red, satanic colores.
singing and playing worldly songs and kingdom melodies.

I can't believe this is an assembly. There is no way. This is like the "guitar mass" the Catholic Churches used to have. This must be a wedding or something like that.
If this is really an assembly they've definitely gone "rogue".

Is the Pioneer School being eliminated?
by wannaexit ini heard from the semi reliable source that the pioneer schools will go the way of the dodo bird next year.. i could see this happening.
it used to be that you went to the the pioneer school once.
then they allowed dubs to go every 5 years.

I don't understand why they even have a designation such as "Pioneer". -

It's one thing being irresponsible freeloaders in a big city like New York with a population of 8.5 million but how is Warwick going to support them with a population of only 32,000? I hope they've made some arrangement to compensate the city of Warwick for all the services they'll receive (police, fire, extra wear and tear on the roads, etc). I can't imagine even the Watchtower would stoop so low as to place their world headquarters in a small town like Warwick and expect to receive all city services free of charge. -

Watchtower crackdown on anointed expansion - are they reaching for a solution to the expanding numbers problem?
by slimboyfat inif this has been discussed i missed it.
i think the january study watchtower is a concerted attempt to reduce the numbers claiming to be anointed.
but i love the sneaky way they go about it this time.

Forgive me for not getting it but why wouldn't everyone partake anyway? Even if you buy into the whole two-tiered setup, isn't it supposedly just to remind us of what Jesus did? So so-called "other sheep" supposedly benefit and should "remember" too, right? They could easily "fix" this "problem" with "new light" instructing everyone to partake. -

I think they're a little trapped. The "proof" for being anointed is the same whether you're a governing body member or not. You just have to take their word for it. Whatever they say would apply equally to themselves.
